Funding

It is natural that anyone thinking about being involved in a legal case will be worried about what it will cost and whether they can afford it.

At Griffiths Robertson we discuss this issue with you right at the beginning to make sure that you have full information and a realistic view of how your case will be funded.

We are contracted with the Legal Aid Agency and will offer best advice on your funding options.

Legal Aid

Since 1st April 2013 the rules relating to the provision of Legal Aid have been significantly changed and have been limited to cases in the following area's

  • Public family law regarding protection of children (care proceedings)
  • Children cases relating to contact/residence/prohibited steps/specific issues where there is evidence of abuse
  • Child abduction matters
  • Representation for child parties in family cases
  • Domestic violence injunction cases

Funding secured prior to 1 April 2013 will continue.

Qualification for Legal Aid is means tested, which establishes your financial eligibility for Legal Aid finded services.

If you are not eligilible your case will have to be self funded.
